About the Artist
Anne Kupillas, Watercolor Artist and Instructor
Anne Kupillas is a Long Beach, California-based artist, working primarily in watercolor.
Born in 1968 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Anne's love of art began as a child growing up on Long Island, New York, in a family of artists and musicians who encouraged her creativity.
Her artwork is informed by freedom and movement, love of color, nature and the human form.
Anne's works have been showcased in several group and solo exhibitions in Florida, New York and Long Beach, California.
Anne is a graduate of SUNY Albany with a Bachelor of Arts, and has studied fine art and art history in New York, Washington DC, Northampton, England and California. Anne enjoys traveling and plein air painting, as well as studio work. She is a member of the Arts Council of Long Beach, SoCal PAPA, and a founder and leader of Eat Paint Live art retreats. You can find her at many events in and around town. Anne's belief in "affordable art" is evident in her prints and her custom work, which are favorites with locals, visitors and collectors alike.
